Faith, overcoming Trials, Trials

image

Your faith is tested in trials. Will you still stand, when everything around you seems to be falling apart? When you prayed and God spoke, then afterwards the troubles increased? When you just prayed Lord take control and not long after everything is not going how you wanted it to?

When you just received a word about your future and nothing is happening yet? Will you question whether God spoke? Or will you hold on to His word, and go to God with the matter?

1 peter 1:7
These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold–though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

Thats what happened straight after Moses had spoken to Pharaoh and told him God said He should let the Israelites go. Before the Israelites were given straws to make brick as part of their labor. But after Moses had released God’s word to Pharoah things got worse. Pharoah ordered that the israelites go and find their own straw to make the bricks. Pharaoh ordered that they should be given even more work to do and not reduce their labor.
And the israelites told Aaron and moses that the Lord should judge them because matters had gotten worse since they spoke to Pharoah.

But where did Moses go after hearing the news? He went straight to the Lord first. He didn’t sit and wonder why things had gone worse. He didn’t ask His friends and family first and discuss it with them. He didn’t question what he had done wrong or give up.
He went straight to the Lord. And He asked God ” Exodus 5: 22: ” Lord why have you brought trouble on this people? Why isit you have sent me? 23 For since I came to Pharoah to speak in Your name, he has done evil to his people ; neither have you delivered your people at all

Exodus 6:1 Then the Lord said to Moses, Now you shall see what I will do to pharoah. For with a strong hand he will let them go, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of Egypt.

When you have commited your life to God. When God has given you a word over your circumstance and over your life. And the next minute everything starts going the opposite dirrection. Go on your knees in prayer. Go back to God with any issues that emerge. Don’t sit down and cry. Don’t sit down and worry. Don’t beat your self up and try to figure out for yourself what you have done wrong when you know You have given your life to God. Seek God first and wait on Him. Be patient to hear His voice. But most importantly stand on the word He gave you whiles you wait for His answer.

Don’t loose hope. Take your eyes of the circumstance and put your focus on God. Worship through the problems. Don’t let it hold you back from smiling, from laughing.Don’t let it steal your joy.
Seek God for guidance and thank Him even when you haven’t seen the answer yet. Have faith in God. Don’t let the circumstance crumble you. Seek God and when you go through the fire. Like clay you may go through the fire soft, but you will come out of it stronger. You will come out shaped and refined as a result of holding on to God’s promises. You will come out knowing why you went through that, that the fire wasn’t meant to burn you or destroy you but to shape you for a purpose. To shape you for something greater.

image

Through the circumstance you will come to have a personal story, a personal journey between you and God. You will come to experience God’s mighty hand on a personal level.

Only when you hold on to the promise, to the dream, to the vision , no matter how hard it gets. And continue to seek God no matter how hard it gets. The trouble will pass and you will remain standing. So don’t let hard times make you unstable, keep standing, because a time will come where the strong wind will pass and if you held in to God and seek His face you will remain standing.
I remember when I first decided to take my relationship with God seriously and not be just be called a christian but act like one and be intentional about seeking God.  But right after that decision i received bad news from different angles. I lost half of my essay, and a friend copied my work and collaborated with my lecturer so I would be introuble instead of her been blamed for plagirism. I was thinking “why would things get worse after I have made the decision to be serious about God and my relationship with Him”. But that kept me on my knees and more importantly I had my own personal experience with God when i saw Him turn everything around for my good. God revealed to me in a dream confirming that I will make it through and everything planned against me will not work. The dreams God revealed to came to pass. Not only did I experience God’s greatness and favor but i came to understand that God never fails when you depend on Him. I completed university and Continue to rely on Him into my career. And through that experience I learnt to rely on Him and seek Him even in the bad times.
Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Everything including the good and bad will work out for your good. So don’t loose focus on rainy days.
God loves you.

Let God heal your pain

image

Hurting people hurt people. The only way to know you are healed is when you don’t inflict your pain on others. When your wound is completely healed theres no agenda to inflict the pain.
When its healed you only go around wanting to heal people. Telling others that their pain can also go away. That its a matter of handing over your wounds to God.

You no longer think that you are a victim of pain. Rather you are a survivor. And a true survivor will tell others of their survival story. If its not spoken of nobody knows you survived. Somebody may give up because you never spoke of how you survived.
God uses broken pieces. For God broken pieces are not put in the trash. He mends them together one by one, until its made whole. God is the one who created you, therefore no matter how you feel or what you been through thats made you broken, He can mold you back to your best piece. You are God’s masterpiece.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

A master piece is the best of all the pieces of works. You are God’s God’s best piece.
Like a broken art piece ,God knows what you consist of, He knows the best in you. Because He made you. Therefore no matter what has caused you pain, He can heal your pain and restore you.

The healing may not take a day. Its a process, sometimes you may not see the results manifest immediately. But every time you hand over your wound He is healing it.
When a wound is healing, you may not see the white blood cells and antibodies at the sight of the wound involved in the process . You cant see the platelets involved in rebuilding the wound. Sometimes all you can see is the red wound. But through it all the healing is taking place internally before manifesting itself physically. The most important part is the process of healing within. When you hand your wounds over to God He is the master healer, who heals you from within.

When you keep putting your mind back on the pain. Its like touching an open wound or reopening a healed wound. The wound cannot heal properly because its been festered with. Every Time your mind goes back on the pain refer it to Jesus your wound healer.
God knows what happened, when it happened and He is the greatest healer of all your wounds.

In 1 samuel 12 Samuel gave an account of all the great things God has done for the children of Israel. Even when they disobeyed and went wayward and they landed into the hands of their enemies. When they cried out to God, God heard their cry and delivered them from the hands of their enemies.

Even when they asked God for a King to rule over them, God chose a king for them, but God told them to make sure they don’t turn aside from following Him.
1 samuel 12: 14
Now if you fear and worship the Lord and listen to his voice, and if you do not rebel against the Lord’s commands , then both you and your king will show that you recognise the Lord as your God.

Take delight in the Lord and He will give you your heart’s desires ( Psalm 37:4)

God knows everything we need. But He doesn’t want what we need to destroy us. God is willing to give us our hearts desire when we make Him the focus. He doesn’t want what we desire to be our idol. He doesn’t want our eyes more on the things He gives us than putting our eyes on Him. Because those things did not create you, He did. Those things did not give you life, He did.

He will give us the desires of our heart when we desire Him more than the earthly desires.

Its important to recognize and thank God for what He has done daily and thank Him for life. When you remember what Jesus has done for you, you will give thanks unto His name.

1 samuel 12:24
Only fear the LORD, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.

When you recognize someone as a friend you will trust them and want to be around them. When you recognize your parents as your parents you will respect them and listen to them.

When you say you believe in God, when you recognise Jesus as the king of Kings you will obey Him. You will want to spend time with Him.

Recognising someone means you are aware of what they have done for you and you are thankful for it. It means you are grateful for their love, provision, protection and everything they have done. And you will not pay back the good they done for you with evil. Have you recognised God?

Wait on God

Anointed for your call

In the book of 1samuel 10, the Israelites asked God to give them a king over them. God is the only king and there is no king before Him or after Him. But the people insisted on the king to lead them in battle.

God agreed and chose a king for them. God spoke through the prophet Samuel and selected a king for them.

But before Saul was chosen as king , He couldn’t become king with His old heart.
He couldn’t lead God’s people with his own heart. He was anointed and chosen by God.

1 samuel 10: 6
At that time the spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them. You will be changed into a different person.

Its God that will change you into a new person and your old ways and the old people will be unfamiliar with it. Your past cannot carry this blessing. Your old thoughts cannot carry this new blessing. The spirit of God will change your mindset, your heart. The way you think, feel and see things. Because if you are your old self you will question every move, you will seek man’s opinion than Gods.
You need God’s spirit to do God’s work.

Zechariah 4:6
Then he said to me, “This is what the LORD says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.
1 samuel 10: As Saul turned and started to leave, God gave Him a new heart, and all Samuel’s signs were fulfilled that day.
If God has spoken concerning your call, your purpose , be assured that It will surely come to pass. And He has given you what it takes to accomplish His plans. And thats why He has released the prophecy over you.
You didn’t choose yourself, He chose you. As long as you continue to walk in His will , your time will surely come.

Be assured that the prophecy spoken over your calling, your purpose will come to pass.

When Samuel prophesied to Saul, some of the prophecy was about instructions which Saul had to obey , in order for the word God has spoken over His life to come to pass.

1 samuel 10:7
And let it be that when these signs come to you, that you do as the occasion demands ; for God is with you.
Not everyone will be happy with the prophecy concerning your life. Not everyone will agree with the prophecy coming to pass. And not everyone will qualify you. But that’s ok because God is the author and finisher of your faith. The beginning and the end and He has qualified you.

Some people were not happy with Saul becoming King

Not everyone will recognise you and believe you have changed. Those who have seen your old ways will be unfamiliar with your change. People will question whether its really you.
You will be surrounded with those with the same vision. God will connect you with those who have also been transformed and walking with Him.

1 samuel 10:26
26 When Saul returned to his home at Gibeah, a group of men whose hearts God had touched went with him.

Glory be to God.

Hold on, the LORD will fight for you

Exodus 14:14
The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace’
Thats the word Moses gave the Israelites when they were fearful when Pharaoh sent His army to chase them.
What Moses said is so beautiful. The Israelites could see that the Egyptians were getting close and they feared. The closeness of the enemies didn’t mean that God has neglected the Israelites. The many issues you face doesn’t mean that God has neglected you.
God wanted to reveal His glory to the Israelites so they will learn to depend on Him and learn to trust Him. Its easy to open our mouth and say “I trust you Lord” . Just like Its easy to tell someone that you Love them.
But the word will have to turn into an action. The actions we take when there is a problem will tell whether we trust God.
The Israelites could have handed themselves over. But they didn’t. They could have given up when they saw the Egyptians coming after them , and said “no way ,they look to many and too strong” but they didnt.
They cried out to God. Because now they had to act out the word “trust”. They chose to follow Moses and obey the Lord as He commanded. They stuck to obeying what God has told Moses they should do. The word “trust” now became a doing word.
When times get tough do we give up? No we should’nt. God is waiting to reveal His glory through us when we stay calm. When the people against you look many and strong , don’t be decieved. When the situation you are facing looks like one you’ve never faced don’t give up.

Because the number or the strength of the opposition does not compare to the power of God. God is above all powers. He created the people who want to make your life difficult. He created every hair on their head and knows them inside out. Your situation is not a mystery to God. He knew it was coming, but He also knows that you are going to make it through. If you hold on to Him and Trust Him. He will reveal His glory and power through the situation.
It doesnt matter how close the issues are. The Egyptians were right behind the Israelites. It doesn’t how armored they are , pharaoh brought chariots with leaders. It doesn’t matter how many they are.
Deuteronomy 32:30
How could one person chase a thousand of them, and two people put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the LORD had given them up?

The Lord will fight for you and you shall forever hold your peace.
You would also think that after the Egyptians had seen God opened the sea for the Israelites to walk on dry ground across the sea, they Egyptians would give up on chasing them.
But no they didn’t, the Egyptians carried on, sometimes even after people have seen the mighty God that is behind you, they want to be persistent. So if the enemy is not giving up, what makes you think you should give up on walking with God, what makes you think you should give up when life gets tough? The more they are after you the more they will see the mighty hand of God. When you hold on to God, they themselves will come to the realization that they have to give up. When you hold on to God, you give those against you the opportunity to witness for themselves the power of almighty God who watches over you. Because God will fight for you and you will forever hold your peace.

God wants His Children Back

God wants His children Back

Isaiah 1:3
Even an ox knows its owner, and a donkey recognises its master’s care—
but Israel doesn’t know its master. My people don’t recognize my care for them.”
God wants His children back. The children He created and formed and breathed life into them. The apple of His eyes.
He’s not happy with the offerings and dancing and worshiping in the open. Then in the close, fornication and lust and idol to money and treating people badly.
Yes He hasn’t said we shouldn’t worship or dance or pray. But He is saying the worship should be a result of being set free. The worship should be thanking Him for opening your eyes from what could have destroyed you.
The sins that would leave you broken and empty and confused and lost and destroyed. The sins that would have crushed your spirit and continue to lead you blind into destruction. Isaiah 1: 16
Wash yourselves and make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes. Cease to do evil.
God sees everything man cannot see. He knows the beginning from the end. He doesn’t want us to live in brokenness and emptiness and be lost. He tells you to stay away from sin because it destroys you.
You are like a seed, you have a purpose. To germinate to grow and to bear fruits. But when you turn away from God, you become a seed without purpose. A seed which God has plans for to become a mighty tree with stalk and fruits. Becomes a seed which remains on the ground for animals to trample on and looses its purpose. A seed which is supposed to be planted in God’s soil is blown away by the wind and looses it sense of direction and purpose.

But God is saying “Come as You are. It doesnt matter what sin you did last night or this morning or what you are planning to do tomorrow. God said Come as you are my Daughter.
Even though you have walked away , you are still mine. I will take you back in , don’t worry about what you’ve done. I have plans for you, let’s start afresh. Its not too late my child.
I know your thoughts afar off. I know everything about you.” Psalm 139:2 You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.

Isaiah 1:18
“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow.
Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.

The Lord wants to settle things with you. He will walk beside you on your journey to obey Him. You don’t have to be afraid, even if you loose friends or family because of your obedience, His reward is greater. God himself will make you new, if you come and lay it all down to Him. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done, God knows everything already. But He still loves you and wants you back.

But don’t continue to turn away and disobey God. Come now and He will give you the strength. Come now and Jesus will cover you. Don’t keep walking in blindness to be destroyed without seeing what’s coming. Walk in the light, so you can see the path ahead, walk in the light so you are directed. Walk in the light so darkness does not overshadow you.
John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

Isaiah 1: 20 But if you turn away and refuse to listen, you will be devoured by the sword of your enemies. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

God first Loved you

As christians we all go through our ups and downs. We go through times of financial difficulty, loss, pain, troubles and disappointments. But when things are not working out the way you planned and want them to be,that doesn’t mean God does not love you. Whether you prayed for something and have not received your blessing yet, or have not received your miracle yet does not mean God does not love you. Whether you got that job or you did not. Whether someone close to you died or not. God still loves you. His love is unconditional. Its not based on how much money you got in your bank account or how big your house is. God loves you just the way you are. The fact that you are going through a rough time right now doesn’t mean, God has stop loving you or God doesn’t love you anymore.
Romans 8:35-37
35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”[o]) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

Jeremiah 1:5
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” God thought of you before He formed you. From your eyes,to nose to teeth to feet to your smile. You are very precious to God. Money cannot buy how precious you are to God. He loves you and that should make you love yourself even more.He is pleased with every part of your being, so you should be happy with yourself and not feel condemned. You are the apple of God’s eye. So even if your mother or father don’t accept you God does. Because He formed you, not them.

Luke 12:7
Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Can you imagine, God knows the number of hairs on your head. He cares about every tiny detail of you. From how you feel about waking up to work today and how you feel about yourself. Everything that you may think is irrelevant , its relevant to God. Because He cares about every single detail of your life.
Romans 8:37-39
No despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

God doesn’t love your best friend more than you, or your sister more than you, or your pastor more than you. Know that no matter what is happened in your life and no matter what happens He still loves you. The fact that your friend is got a job or is married. Or that the issues you are facing is bigger than your sister doesn’t mean He loves them more. God loves you as much as He loves them.

God loves you soo much, that even before He created you He had a plan for you. Jesus died for you even before you were born. God’s love for you is beforehand not after.
Even when we were in sin, He still loved us. Romans 5:8
But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
God hates sin , but He loves YOU. And because He loves you, He will do anything to get you right with Him. He will do anything to get you out of sin. And so God went to extent of saying ” I Love you soo much that I will sacrifice what I love for you”. I will do anything to get a relationship with you. Even if it means death I will do it”. And that’s what Jesus came to do.

All the material blessings that this current generation see as love, will breakdown, will fade away. Then you will have to replace it. So that’s why whether you received material things or not should not confirm God’s love for you. God’s love is beyond that, God’s love does not fade away. He loves you soo much and spending time on earth is not enough for Him. He wants to see you with Him in heaven to.
Yes sin can be very deceptive. From a glance it may look pleasing but the consequences are damaging to the spirit, body and soul. But more importantly God who loves you unconditionally hates it. God created us, and knows what’s good for us and what’s bad for us. He wants the best for us, He doesn’t want you to be destroyed. He doesn’t want you to after all the hardship here on earth you suffer in hell as well. But most importantly, He LOVES YOU. He has great plans for you and wants your journey here on earth to be worth it.
With all the issues of christians been persecuted around the world. God’s word will tell us the answer. Nothing can separate me and you from God’s love. God still loves those who are being persecuted. He first loved us before bringing us on this earth. He knows earth is not our final destination, earth is not our home. If it were we will remain here forever.
Rest in God’s peace and seek Him, knowing that no matter what’s happening around you God loves you.

Hand Your Problems to God

Sometimes we may think all the difficulties around us means God has abandoned us. But God will never leave you or forsake you. But the difficulties will draw us nearer to God not away from God.
Its through the cry to God in weakness that you will find your strength in God. Its through the cry of been heart broken that you will experience the comfort and healing of God. Its through the cry from confusion that you will experience God’s peace. Problems are not meant to shift as away from God, but to draw us nearer to God.
Problems are reminders to let us know we don’t run the world but God does. They are to lead us to seek God’s face and experience His mighty hand as He gives us the breakthrough.

It doesn’t mean we have to go through problems before we glorify God. But our history of breakthrough is a result of God solving our problems.
The problems which you went through in the past gave you a an experience that God can heal, God delivers, God protects, God provides.
In the book of exodus 2:23
The bible says;
Now it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died. Then the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry came up to God because of the bondage.
24: So God heared their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. 25: And God looked upon the children of Israel, and acknowledged them.

Your problems are not meant to create more problems. Your problems are not to lead you to smoke, or become stressed, or become depressed or destroy you.
Your problem should lead you to the problem solver not a problem maker.
Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” When you are lost, do you head to google maps and ask for direction or do you just keep walking aimlessly. When you are sick do you not seek to be healed.
Your problems are to lead you to God, He alone can solve all problems. The bible says the children of Israel groaned because of their bondage, and they cried out and their cry came to GOD BECAUSE OF THEIR BONDAGE.
God hears our cry. God hears your cry for healing. God hears your cry for provision and God hears your cry for direction. Your problem should lead you to worship, and seek God.your problem is not a sign that God is not near you, its a proof that you need God. Its your cry for protection from God that will cause angels to encamp around you. “1 peter 5:7
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” A problem should trigger a solution. But a solution will not come until action is taken. Our solution Our solution is Jesus alone. But we must take action: pray and seek God’s face for God to resolve the problem.
What’s so amazing is that God does not want to solve your problems so you never come back again. He is not overwhelmed by how big the problems are or how many they are. He’s not overwhelmed, HE CARES ABOUT YOU. When you know someone cares about you, you will go to them with anything. God almighty cares, just lay it all out to Him, tell Him. Its between you and Him personally.

When you haven’t received the answers yet doesn’t mean you give up. Or it doesn’t mean God is not listening. ( Psalm 94:9 Does he who fashioned the ear not hear? Does he who formed the eye not see?) God knows best and even though you may think now is the right time for your answers, He knows your future ahead and will answer in the right time and there will be no delay. God is always on time. So don’t give up, continue seeking Him, continue praising Him and be patient.
Habakuk 2:3
This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.

Isaiah 40:31
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

But what’s your intention for crying?
Do you just want God to solve problems when you have problems. Or you want Him when you don’t have problems to. Seek Him in the good times and bad , He cares ,He wants to hear your voice everyday.

If you only knew what God was preparing for you when you wait.

When God is about to release your blessing, His plans for your life, or take you to the next level, thats when the distractions come so you can be out of line. That’s when the feeling of impatience steps in so you don’t hold on and see your turnaround.

The bible says that when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered to make Gods. ( Exodus 32:1)

But little did they know at the time of their impatience was the time God had released His plans to Moses which will take them to a greater level of intimacy with God. What the Israelites were thinking and what God was planing were on completely different level. Just know that God will go beyond your expectation when you wait on Him.( isaiah 65:9
“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.)

Should time be a factor of how long you stay on your walk with God? Should time be a factor of your commitment to God?

You’re waiting for the job, you’re waiting for the husband, you’re waiting for the child, you’re waiting for the car. You’re waiting for somebody. You’re waiting for money.

What about waiting on God? When we tune our focus on or wait on things, we become impatient.

But when we tune our focus on God and wait on God, we become productive in the time of waiting. Because we know that even if the blessing hasn’t arrived yet we are in His will and it will happen.
God’s word does not return to Him void. As it is written in Isaiah 55:11
so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

But when we put our hearts and focus on the things we want , we loose focus! We have to learn to encourage ourselves to refocus ,even when we become unfocused.
The Israelites put their focus on Moses’s return. Not on God almighty. Not on God who they waited on and fed them manna, not on God who they waited on and save them from their enemies. Because they tuned their focus from God who never fails to the return of Moses. They put their focus on how long Moses was taking to come back.

Not knowing that even if Moses was to arrive or not, God’s promises will always come to pass.
Even if things haven’t been happening in the order you have expected them to happen, God’s promises will always come to pass.

God can release His blessings in the midst of any circumstance. It may not be when everything is nice and smooth in your life. It may be at the time of struggle, the times of difficulty, the times where you feel inpatient. But where will your focus be at that moment? Will it be on the current circumstance or your expectant blessing? Or will it be on the mighty God who will release the blessing.

Your current circumstance does not dictate your future. Because God can open a mind-blowing opportunity for you tomorrow. When you don’t take your eyes of Him.
