In 1 samuel 12 Samuel gave an account of all the great things God has done for the children of Israel. Even when they disobeyed and went wayward and they landed into the hands of their enemies. When they cried out to God, God heard their cry and delivered them from the hands of their enemies.

Even when they asked God for a King to rule over them, God chose a king for them, but God told them to make sure they don’t turn aside from following Him.
1 samuel 12: 14
Now if you fear and worship the Lord and listen to his voice, and if you do not rebel against the Lord’s commands , then both you and your king will show that you recognise the Lord as your God.

Take delight in the Lord and He will give you your heart’s desires ( Psalm 37:4)

God knows everything we need. But He doesn’t want what we need to destroy us. God is willing to give us our hearts desire when we make Him the focus. He doesn’t want what we desire to be our idol. He doesn’t want our eyes more on the things He gives us than putting our eyes on Him. Because those things did not create you, He did. Those things did not give you life, He did.

He will give us the desires of our heart when we desire Him more than the earthly desires.

Its important to recognize and thank God for what He has done daily and thank Him for life. When you remember what Jesus has done for you, you will give thanks unto His name.

1 samuel 12:24
Only fear the LORD, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.

When you recognize someone as a friend you will trust them and want to be around them. When you recognize your parents as your parents you will respect them and listen to them.

When you say you believe in God, when you recognise Jesus as the king of Kings you will obey Him. You will want to spend time with Him.

Recognising someone means you are aware of what they have done for you and you are thankful for it. It means you are grateful for their love, provision, protection and everything they have done. And you will not pay back the good they done for you with evil. Have you recognised God?

The Lord placed this verse on my heart and led me to write this back in february. Our Heavenly father loves us.
Psalm 68:5
A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation.

God our father is
A father that provides for you
A father that protects for you
A father that is the head of the house
A father that loves you
A father disciplines you
God is a father to those without fathers and those with fathers.Less of their father. Those who don’t have the main figure. This means those without fathers still have a father, they wont be in need, they wont be led astray, they wont be afraid, they wont feel unloved, they wont be mislead.
Theres so much your earthly father can do, He cant be everywhere and know everything. But our heavenly father is omnipresent and omniscient. Whether your earthly father has been around or not, you haven’t missed anything in life. Because recognizing and knowing your heavenly father means everything beyond your earthly father is provided. Getting to know your heavenly father you will be counseled, you will become the great man or woman you are called to be. You haven’t missed out because you never spent time with your earthly father or seen him. Your heavenly father knew you before you were born. Your earthly father hadn’t even seen you before you were brought into existence by your heavenly father. Your heavenly father chose your earthly father. Your earthly father waited on you( a special gift) your heavenly father delivered.your heavenly father wants you to know Him as well as He knows you. This means spending time with him. Your heavenly father delivered you for a purpose and one day you will go back to him.He wants you to know Him when you see Him again. When you were delivered you didn’t know Him but when you return back to Him He wants you to know Him. If you know Him here you will definitely know Him when you see Him one day.
No matter what you may face. Our heavenly father will be there, through the trials the ups and the downs, He will stand by us. Knowing Him means we have authority, we are protected, He will never leave us nor forsake us.

Wait on God

Anointed for your call

In the book of 1samuel 10, the Israelites asked God to give them a king over them. God is the only king and there is no king before Him or after Him. But the people insisted on the king to lead them in battle.

God agreed and chose a king for them. God spoke through the prophet Samuel and selected a king for them.

But before Saul was chosen as king , He couldn’t become king with His old heart.
He couldn’t lead God’s people with his own heart. He was anointed and chosen by God.

1 samuel 10: 6
At that time the spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them. You will be changed into a different person.

Its God that will change you into a new person and your old ways and the old people will be unfamiliar with it. Your past cannot carry this blessing. Your old thoughts cannot carry this new blessing. The spirit of God will change your mindset, your heart. The way you think, feel and see things. Because if you are your old self you will question every move, you will seek man’s opinion than Gods.
You need God’s spirit to do God’s work.

Zechariah 4:6
Then he said to me, “This is what the LORD says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.
1 samuel 10: As Saul turned and started to leave, God gave Him a new heart, and all Samuel’s signs were fulfilled that day.
If God has spoken concerning your call, your purpose , be assured that It will surely come to pass. And He has given you what it takes to accomplish His plans. And thats why He has released the prophecy over you.
You didn’t choose yourself, He chose you. As long as you continue to walk in His will , your time will surely come.

Be assured that the prophecy spoken over your calling, your purpose will come to pass.

When Samuel prophesied to Saul, some of the prophecy was about instructions which Saul had to obey , in order for the word God has spoken over His life to come to pass.

1 samuel 10:7
And let it be that when these signs come to you, that you do as the occasion demands ; for God is with you.
Not everyone will be happy with the prophecy concerning your life. Not everyone will agree with the prophecy coming to pass. And not everyone will qualify you. But that’s ok because God is the author and finisher of your faith. The beginning and the end and He has qualified you.

Some people were not happy with Saul becoming King

Not everyone will recognise you and believe you have changed. Those who have seen your old ways will be unfamiliar with your change. People will question whether its really you.
You will be surrounded with those with the same vision. God will connect you with those who have also been transformed and walking with Him.

1 samuel 10:26
26 When Saul returned to his home at Gibeah, a group of men whose hearts God had touched went with him.

Glory be to God.

Hold on, the LORD will fight for you

Exodus 14:14
The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace’
Thats the word Moses gave the Israelites when they were fearful when Pharaoh sent His army to chase them.
What Moses said is so beautiful. The Israelites could see that the Egyptians were getting close and they feared. The closeness of the enemies didn’t mean that God has neglected the Israelites. The many issues you face doesn’t mean that God has neglected you.
God wanted to reveal His glory to the Israelites so they will learn to depend on Him and learn to trust Him. Its easy to open our mouth and say “I trust you Lord” . Just like Its easy to tell someone that you Love them.
But the word will have to turn into an action. The actions we take when there is a problem will tell whether we trust God.
The Israelites could have handed themselves over. But they didn’t. They could have given up when they saw the Egyptians coming after them , and said “no way ,they look to many and too strong” but they didnt.
They cried out to God. Because now they had to act out the word “trust”. They chose to follow Moses and obey the Lord as He commanded. They stuck to obeying what God has told Moses they should do. The word “trust” now became a doing word.
When times get tough do we give up? No we should’nt. God is waiting to reveal His glory through us when we stay calm. When the people against you look many and strong , don’t be decieved. When the situation you are facing looks like one you’ve never faced don’t give up.

Because the number or the strength of the opposition does not compare to the power of God. God is above all powers. He created the people who want to make your life difficult. He created every hair on their head and knows them inside out. Your situation is not a mystery to God. He knew it was coming, but He also knows that you are going to make it through. If you hold on to Him and Trust Him. He will reveal His glory and power through the situation.
It doesnt matter how close the issues are. The Egyptians were right behind the Israelites. It doesn’t how armored they are , pharaoh brought chariots with leaders. It doesn’t matter how many they are.
Deuteronomy 32:30
How could one person chase a thousand of them, and two people put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the LORD had given them up?

The Lord will fight for you and you shall forever hold your peace.
You would also think that after the Egyptians had seen God opened the sea for the Israelites to walk on dry ground across the sea, they Egyptians would give up on chasing them.
But no they didn’t, the Egyptians carried on, sometimes even after people have seen the mighty God that is behind you, they want to be persistent. So if the enemy is not giving up, what makes you think you should give up on walking with God, what makes you think you should give up when life gets tough? The more they are after you the more they will see the mighty hand of God. When you hold on to God, they themselves will come to the realization that they have to give up. When you hold on to God, you give those against you the opportunity to witness for themselves the power of almighty God who watches over you. Because God will fight for you and you will forever hold your peace.

Psalm 91:7
Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.

Because you are covered by the blood of Jesus, nothing can touch you even when things are happening near you. A thousand shall fall on your side, ten thousand on your right hand but it shall not touch you.
God is so amazing. What happened in the Land of Egypt whiles Pharaoh was holding the Israelites captive showed God’s power.
God sent hail on the Egyptians and it destroyed their live stock. However this was the same Land the Israelites lived on and the hail did not come near them. The live stock of the Egyptians died and no harm touched Live stock of the Israelites. The Lord sent boils but it only came on the Egyptians and nothing came on the Israelites.
God is in control of the whole universe. It doesn’t matter the link between you and someone, even if its blood, even if its your neighbor. The blood of Jesus covers you and destroys every negative link.
God restrained the prestilence from coming near and touching the Egyptians.

So how much more covering you when things are happening around you.
A thousand may fall at your side.
People may be plotting right near you. Your own blood link may be plotting against you. Circumstances may be hardening right around you.
Ten thousand at your right hand.
But God said ” It will not touch you”

No matter how big the plot. No matter how close the people plotting are. No matter how close to your house the enemy is attacking. Even if its the things that belong to you thats getting attacked.

God said It will not touch you.
Whatever the enemy has planned cannot touch you. Its happening around you, but don’t allow it to scare you. Don’t allow it to frustrate you. Don’t allow it to depress you. Because God has said IT will NOT touch you. It may be happening right infront of you.
But God has given you inner peace to stand. Don’t allow it to break you down. The blood of Jesus destroys every negative link no matter how close it is.
The link in closeness may be blood. But it will not come near you. The link in closeness could be your home but it will not touch you.
The holy spirit that lives in you has power over every other spirit. Do don’t allow anything to suppress your spirit, your mind or your body. No matter how close the attack may be , God says ” It will not touch you.
So don’t give in when you see things falling right near you. Fix your eyes on Jesus.

Jesus.. Restorer of my Soul

Psalm 23:2
He Restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness , For His name’s sake.
Restore means to : return (someone or something) to a former condition, place, or position.bring back or re-establish (a previous right, practice, or situation). Soul: our mind , our mentality and our hearts.
In Psalm 23:3 David talks about God restoring His soul and leading Him to a path of righteousness.

He is not talking about physical blessings here. He’s not talking  about restoring a old house He has lost or restoring His riches. He talks about Almighty God restoring His soul.
Restoration means: to return someone or something to its former condition.
If the Lord had to restore David’s soul then it meant at the time his soul was not in a good condition. His soul was not always pleasing God so He wanted God to restore His soul back to the place where his heart and mind is in tune with God. Notice that David didn’t say the Lord restored his soul , He says the Lord RESTORES his soul. Its a continuous process. Restoration is a process because it requires that the old be removed and be replaced gradually or daily with the new. David could not by make Himself righteous. By His own hand and His own ability He cannot restore His soul.
Restoration also refers to when someone has backslidden, when your mind and heart was on God but is shifting away little by little.
But David makes it very clear that God restores His soul.

Zachariah 4:6 So he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.

David makes it clear that God brings His heart and mind and thoughts and feelings in obedience with Him, when He seeks God to do so. When He longs and desires for God to do so.
In Our own strength trying to restore our soul is not possible. We need to go before God and ask for His divine intervention. To tune us into His desires and His will. Its a process of feeding our minds and hearts with God’s word so we allow Him to occupy us. God restored David’s soul.
It means that His mind and heart now desires the things after God’s heart. He is thinking to please God,His state of mind is to obey God. His heart is not longing after the desires of the flesh or the things that will kill His soul.
After restoring David’s soul, God led David to walk in His righteousness.
So after God has restored our mind and our hearts to Him.Now we start to act and walk according to God’s will. Because David seeked God to restore His state of mind and The desires of His heart back to Him, He allowed God to lead Him to walking in obedience with Him.
Notice that David submitted to the Lord leading Him. Notice that David let the Lord lead Him. So after God has restored your mind, heart and thoughts back to Him, you have to let Him lead you. Righteousness cannot be achieved by your own strength or ability. God made us right with Him through His son Jesus Christ.
1 corinthians 1:30 God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.

Notice that you choose who to lead you. You can choose friends, by looking at their way of life. You can choose the world by following their way of life. But if you want to be walking in God’s will you have to follow God’s way of life. You cannot choose the world’s way of living and expect your soul to be restored and let God lead you.

God will lead us only when we submit under His authority. And to submit under God’s authority we must know what is pleasing to Him and what He hates. When we know what He hates we won’t allow anything or anyone to lead us.
Its important to pray for God to restore our minds daily and think about Him so He can lead us into the path of righteousness.
Glory be to God.

Its not over when you turn to God

God’s Grace outweighs Failure

Moses was afraid when He heared Pharoah was looking for Him as a result of murdering an egyptian.
He wanted to save His people ( the israelites) from the abuse they were getting from the Egyptians. But he failed to rescue them in His own strength.
When God told Moses to go and speak to pharaoh to release the Israelites, Moses did not succeed straightaway. It wasn’t a one time discussion and a done deal. But Moses listened to God and was persistent in speaking to Pharaoh. God sent Moses so we would be thinking ” It shouldn’t be that difficult to convince pharaoh”. But everything happened for God’s glory to be manifested.
God still chose Moses not depending on His failure or sin. Anyone could have said why would God use Moses? God’s grace is abundant, its not depending on your past mistakes or your present state. He sees the future in you that cannot see.

You may have failed in your exams. You may have been kicked out of college or university. You may have had a child before marriage. You may have come from an abusive home. You may have been disrespectful. You may have done an abortion. You may have fornicated. You may have been rejected. You may have gone into prostitution or committed adultery.
But I want you to know that God’s grace is abundant. Regardless of how much you hate yourself for what you’ve done, or how deep into sin you think you have gone.
God loves you. His grace is sufficient. Every weak area in your life, every failure in your life, every shame in your life God is able to strengthen you to overcome it.
2 corinthians 12:19
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

When you’ve failed doesn’t mean you give up. It doesn’t mean you will never be successful again. It doesn’t mean your world has ended. It doesn’t mean you are not good enough. It doesn’t mean everyone is better than you.It doesn’t mean you are good for nothing.

When you failed means there’s something else you need to learn. It means try again. It means am going to try harder next time. Moses was persistent in speaking to Pharaoh. It may mean there’s something more i need to learn. It doesn’t mean giveup.
But what it means is go back to God. It means surrender all to Him. Jesus died for you so every burden you ever felt he can carry, every brokenness He can heal. Jesus didn’t come and save those that are perfect, He came for the lost, the broken, the sinner. Its His strength that is made perfect in our weakness. Not your strength.
You shall overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of your testimony (revelation 12:11). Its the blood of Jesus that will strengthen you to overcome. Its the blood of Jesus that will heal and deliver you to come out of whatever that’s held you down. What you thought you failed in, what you thought was an addiction, Jesus is able to break that cycle in your life.
But seek Him wholeheartedly, let God know you cant do without Him.

Jeremiah 29:13
If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.

God’s Love for you and me is so deep that no matter how many times or how much you’ve failed He’s able to pick you up. The blood of Jesus is able to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. God can still use you, when you surrender and make Jesus Lord over your life. When you seek Him and not let your failures or past mistakes hold you down.
Been a christian doesn’t mean I haven’t failed before. There are many occasions where i failed my exams and had to do it all over again. There are occasions in the past where I slacked and have been disobedient to God’s word. There have been occasions where I have began something and not completed it. But one thing I realized is speaking to God daily and seeking after Him has not only given me the strength but also have the desire to please Him. God’s word has enlightened me and redirected me away from the broad road I used to walk on. Am not perfect but I Surrender and admit to God when He convicts me of where I’ve gone wrong. Certain things I used to do, certain places I used to go and even people I used to hang about with my heart does not desire anymore, because God’s presence and the love of God fills my heart with peace that my past could not give me. I can honestly say there’s been a good change within me and desire to please Him as a result of letting God lead me.
It doesn’t matter where you are at right now, Jesus can turn every failure. There is Hope in Jesus

Proverbs 24:16-18
16 For a righteous man may fall seven times
And rise again

Whatever you may have failed in or fallen short of ,just know that God still loves you and will help you overcome it when you surrender and look to Him for strength. #faith #bible #Jesus #Grace #Love #peace

God wants His Children Back

God wants His children Back

Isaiah 1:3
Even an ox knows its owner, and a donkey recognises its master’s care—
but Israel doesn’t know its master. My people don’t recognize my care for them.”
God wants His children back. The children He created and formed and breathed life into them. The apple of His eyes.
He’s not happy with the offerings and dancing and worshiping in the open. Then in the close, fornication and lust and idol to money and treating people badly.
Yes He hasn’t said we shouldn’t worship or dance or pray. But He is saying the worship should be a result of being set free. The worship should be thanking Him for opening your eyes from what could have destroyed you.
The sins that would leave you broken and empty and confused and lost and destroyed. The sins that would have crushed your spirit and continue to lead you blind into destruction. Isaiah 1: 16
Wash yourselves and make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes. Cease to do evil.
God sees everything man cannot see. He knows the beginning from the end. He doesn’t want us to live in brokenness and emptiness and be lost. He tells you to stay away from sin because it destroys you.
You are like a seed, you have a purpose. To germinate to grow and to bear fruits. But when you turn away from God, you become a seed without purpose. A seed which God has plans for to become a mighty tree with stalk and fruits. Becomes a seed which remains on the ground for animals to trample on and looses its purpose. A seed which is supposed to be planted in God’s soil is blown away by the wind and looses it sense of direction and purpose.

But God is saying “Come as You are. It doesnt matter what sin you did last night or this morning or what you are planning to do tomorrow. God said Come as you are my Daughter.
Even though you have walked away , you are still mine. I will take you back in , don’t worry about what you’ve done. I have plans for you, let’s start afresh. Its not too late my child.
I know your thoughts afar off. I know everything about you.” Psalm 139:2 You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.

Isaiah 1:18
“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow.
Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.

The Lord wants to settle things with you. He will walk beside you on your journey to obey Him. You don’t have to be afraid, even if you loose friends or family because of your obedience, His reward is greater. God himself will make you new, if you come and lay it all down to Him. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done, God knows everything already. But He still loves you and wants you back.

But don’t continue to turn away and disobey God. Come now and He will give you the strength. Come now and Jesus will cover you. Don’t keep walking in blindness to be destroyed without seeing what’s coming. Walk in the light, so you can see the path ahead, walk in the light so you are directed. Walk in the light so darkness does not overshadow you.
John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

Isaiah 1: 20 But if you turn away and refuse to listen, you will be devoured by the sword of your enemies. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

God first Loved you

As christians we all go through our ups and downs. We go through times of financial difficulty, loss, pain, troubles and disappointments. But when things are not working out the way you planned and want them to be,that doesn’t mean God does not love you. Whether you prayed for something and have not received your blessing yet, or have not received your miracle yet does not mean God does not love you. Whether you got that job or you did not. Whether someone close to you died or not. God still loves you. His love is unconditional. Its not based on how much money you got in your bank account or how big your house is. God loves you just the way you are. The fact that you are going through a rough time right now doesn’t mean, God has stop loving you or God doesn’t love you anymore.
Romans 8:35-37
35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”[o]) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

Jeremiah 1:5
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” God thought of you before He formed you. From your eyes,to nose to teeth to feet to your smile. You are very precious to God. Money cannot buy how precious you are to God. He loves you and that should make you love yourself even more.He is pleased with every part of your being, so you should be happy with yourself and not feel condemned. You are the apple of God’s eye. So even if your mother or father don’t accept you God does. Because He formed you, not them.

Luke 12:7
Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Can you imagine, God knows the number of hairs on your head. He cares about every tiny detail of you. From how you feel about waking up to work today and how you feel about yourself. Everything that you may think is irrelevant , its relevant to God. Because He cares about every single detail of your life.
Romans 8:37-39
No despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

God doesn’t love your best friend more than you, or your sister more than you, or your pastor more than you. Know that no matter what is happened in your life and no matter what happens He still loves you. The fact that your friend is got a job or is married. Or that the issues you are facing is bigger than your sister doesn’t mean He loves them more. God loves you as much as He loves them.

God loves you soo much, that even before He created you He had a plan for you. Jesus died for you even before you were born. God’s love for you is beforehand not after.
Even when we were in sin, He still loved us. Romans 5:8
But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
God hates sin , but He loves YOU. And because He loves you, He will do anything to get you right with Him. He will do anything to get you out of sin. And so God went to extent of saying ” I Love you soo much that I will sacrifice what I love for you”. I will do anything to get a relationship with you. Even if it means death I will do it”. And that’s what Jesus came to do.

All the material blessings that this current generation see as love, will breakdown, will fade away. Then you will have to replace it. So that’s why whether you received material things or not should not confirm God’s love for you. God’s love is beyond that, God’s love does not fade away. He loves you soo much and spending time on earth is not enough for Him. He wants to see you with Him in heaven to.
Yes sin can be very deceptive. From a glance it may look pleasing but the consequences are damaging to the spirit, body and soul. But more importantly God who loves you unconditionally hates it. God created us, and knows what’s good for us and what’s bad for us. He wants the best for us, He doesn’t want you to be destroyed. He doesn’t want you to after all the hardship here on earth you suffer in hell as well. But most importantly, He LOVES YOU. He has great plans for you and wants your journey here on earth to be worth it.
With all the issues of christians been persecuted around the world. God’s word will tell us the answer. Nothing can separate me and you from God’s love. God still loves those who are being persecuted. He first loved us before bringing us on this earth. He knows earth is not our final destination, earth is not our home. If it were we will remain here forever.
Rest in God’s peace and seek Him, knowing that no matter what’s happening around you God loves you.
